Tumkuru, Jan 2: The principal of Tiptur Boys PU College, Allama Prabhu, who has been facing the charge of misusing the funds meant for disbursal of honorariums of guest lecturers, and whose anticiplatory bail plea had been rejected, presented himself in the college on the day of his retirement from service.

Allama Prabhu had gone missing as soon as the government gave permission to the Anti Corruption Bureau to investigate the above charge. He came back to the college on his retirement day, Thursday December 31, completed retirement formalities, and returned. He handed over charge of the college to T Shekharappa.

He and first division assistant, Sunil Koorgi, are facing the charge of paying honorariums of the guest lectures from the college development fund, and then transferring the grant received from the government in this respect to someone else's account through Khajane-2 software. The funds were credited to the accounts of Allama Prabhu's brother-in-law, and wife of Koorgi.

The government had entrusted the case to Anti Corruption Bureau. On December 29, the district sessions court had dismissed his anticipatory bail application.
