Mangalore: Former JDS General Secretary, Mahimkumar Hegde, No More

Mangalore, Jun 11: Former JDS Udupi district president and state general secretary, Mahimkumar Hegde (51), son of the late Kanajar Patel Shekhar Hegde of the renowned Hirebettu family, breathed his last in a private hospital here on Thursday June 10.

Hegde, former president of Atrady gram panchayat near Kundapur, also had been an active member of the BJP since the last some time. Besides becoming popular by working for the development of the villages during his tenure as the gram panchayat president, he also had contributed immensely for the progress of Hirebettu private aided primary school, by being the president of the school betterment committee. He was also the honorary president of Hirebettu Umamaheshwari Temple.

Hegde was also a successful entrepreneur and the owner of Ratna Wood Industries. He is survived by mother, wife, a brother and two sisters.

State home minister, Dr V S Acharya, MLAs, K Raghupati Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, BJP district president,K Udayakumar Shetty, JDS district president, Belapu Deviprasad Shetty and various other dignitaries have condoled the untimely death of Mahimkumar Hegde.
