Dharwad: Shivakumar warns leaders violating party decorum

Dharwad, Jan 12: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar, issued a stern warning to anyone who might cross the lines set by the party. He said that those who breach the limits will not be spared irrespective of whether they are recognised as big or small leaders.

He was speaking at the Congress Sankalp Samavesha of Belagavi division level held at Lotus Garden at Hubballi on Monday, January 11. He noted that in the past, B forms were handed over to someone who sometimes gave the forms to someone else. "Tactics like not fielding the party candidate were also followed. Henceforth, these things will not be allowed. For the upcoming taluk panchayat, zilla panchayat and corporation elections, aspirants have to file applications without fail and the party committee will scrutinise these applications and decide on the tickets.

He stated that to support the farmers agitation at Delhi, his party will undertake 'Raja Bhavan Chalo' programme on January 20. He said that his party has asked the state units of the party to hold nationwide agitation on January 15 to fight the farm laws. He said that as the party leaders from the state requested it to be postponed in view of Sankranti festival, the programme has been postponed to January 20 in Karnataka. He stated that a minimum of five buses full of party leaders and workers from each of the assembly constituencies should be bought to Bengaluru for this purpose, All the agitators will meet at the Freedom Park on January 20 after which they will go to Raj Bhyavan to hold protest, he explained.
