UK wants to Strengthen Ties with UAE


Abu Dhabi, June 13 (IANS/WAM) British Prime Minister David Cameron has asserted that Britain is committed to strengthening economic and defence ties with the UAE.

"The deep friendship between the UK and the UAE is based on a unique, shared history and common interests. We are committed to strengthening our cooperation on defence and security," a statement issued by the British embassy here quoted Cameron as saying Saturday.

"Also, we both want to build and develop our economic ties", Cameron, who was on a visit to the UAE, said.

During his brief visit, Cameron met President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and crown prince of Abu Dhabi General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
