Panaji: Goa board reduces exam fees for spl needs kids to 50 percent

Panaji, Jan 18: The Goa board of secondary and higher secondary education has decided on cutting the examination fees for children with special needs by 50 percent who appear for Class X and XII public exams.

The Goa board circular issued by secretary Geraldina Mendes stated that the concession will be available to all special children sponsored to appear for the state board Class X and XII exams by a recognized high school or higher secondary school.

Additionally, the circular stated that a reduced fee of Rs 300 will be charged for the statement of marks and passing certificate and a revised fee will be Rs 525 without late fees and Rs 1,o25 with late fees. No fees will be charged for practical examinations for students answering the exam under the scheme for children with special needs.

The decision was taken by the Goa Board executive last January.
