Panaji, Jan 23: Disturbed while taking a nap due to noise made by the children in the locality, a woman reportedly assaulted a 12-year-old kid. The woman has been identified only as Anita by the police is a 55-year-old. As per the complaint filed by the father of the kid, when he returned home from outside, he found his son crying and asking for ice. Upon enquiry, the child's mother revealed that he was beaten up by the neighbour.

Visuals of photographs showing assault marks on the child's back was being circulated in the social media which has provoked anger among the Vasco residents.

It is said that the child along with other kids was riding a bicycle when the lady called him closer and began assaulting him. To escape the assault, the child ran to a neighbourhood but the woman reportedly chased the kid and continued assaulting him until an elderly intervened the act.

A case was registered under Section 324, 8 of Goa's Children Act. The woman has been granted anticipatory bail.
