Mumbai, Jan 25: The Maharashtra government has appointed well-known entrepreneur and religious leader, Bhasker R Shetty as member trustee for the management committee of the world-renowned Siddivinayaka temple, situated at Prabhadevi, Dadar west.
The government-appointed eleven members in all, for the management committee for the next three years. Ashok Chandrakanth Bandekar and Sanjay Harischandra Sawant are appointed president and treasurer respectively. Bhasker Shetty is the only Tulu Kannadiga among them.
Bhasker Shetty, hailing from Badagaraguthu clan from Inna village, Karkala taluk has been active in politics. He was the corporator of BMC Dharavi ward. He owns Everest Hotel and other hotels in Dharavi Sion and is well-known as Everest Bhaskaranna. He had also served as vice-president of Ahaar organization.
