Kerala's Muhsin gets Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak posthumously


New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): Kerala's Muhammed Muhsin has been posthumously awarded the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, one of the three Jeevan Raksha Padak awards given to someone for saving the life of another person.

His name tops the list of 40 persons who have been conferred Jeevan Raksha Padak awards 2020 by President Ram Nath Kovind on the occasion of the country's 72nd Republic Day. These include eight recipients of Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and 31 of Jeevan Raksha Padak.

Gujarat's Ramshibhai Ratnabhai Samad, along with Maharashtra's Parmeshwar Balaji Nagargoje, Punjab's Amandeep Kaur, Telangana's Koripelly Srujan Reddy, Uttar Pradesh's Master Tinku Nishhad, Madhya Pradesh's Himani Biswal, Andhra Pradesh Kalagarla Sahithi, and Uttar Pradesh's Bhuwaneshwar Prajapati are the recipients of Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak.

The medals and the certificates signed by the Union Home Minister and a lump sum allowance is presented to the awardees in due course by the Ministries, organisations, and the state governments to which they belong to.
