Farmers' violence on R-Day a well-planned conspiracy: BJP

New Delhi, Jan 27 (IANS): The BJP on Tuesday said there was a well-planned conspiracy behind the farmers' tractor parade turning violent in the national capital, leading to disturbance in the law and order situation.

According to BJP leaders, a violent demonstration was planned on the occasion of the nation's 72nd Republic Day to tarnish the image of the country, and the farmers' leaders will have to take full responsibility for this violence.

The party said the government is ready to meet the legitimate demands of the farmers, but the farmers' leaders do not want a solution.

"The police had repeatedly warned of the possibility of violence. It also appealed to the farmer leaders not to take out the tractor parade, but no one listened. Now since violence has taken place Delhi in the guise of an agitation, some farmers' leaders are just shrugging off responsibilities," Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal told IANS.

"Mere condemnation (by the farmer leaders) will not work... Individuals like Rakesh Tikait and Yogendra Yadav will have to take responsibility. The violence was a part of a well-planned conspiracy," he said.

Agarwal said despite the violence earlier in the day, the Delhi Police acted with patience and restraint for which the force deserves congratulations.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said: "Whatever has happened in the name of tractor parade at Red Fort on Republic Day is a matter of shame. The entire country is sad today. In the name of tractor parade, hoodlums tried to crush the policemen. People who insult the tricolour cannot be farmers."

Farmers sat on the road for 60 days peacefully. Govt.should have ended the agitation peacefully as RSS leaders also forewarned the govt. Mob of this magnitude cannot be controlled by anyone except army, but that will lead to further issues. Scrap this Draconian farmers laws first ...Jai Kisan!!

What explanation are you waiting for, Shankar ? Did you reply to justify purchase of paddy from Karnataka farmers for Re. 1/- more that what is paid them in the APMCs ?

You deserve no reply to your questions too, because the paddy purchase is the repercussion of the very Farm Bills. Repeal them ! We don't want the Corporate Honchos get richer with us hitting our stomachs to starvation.

If the government had done it's duty of 'sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas', this situation would not have come. Modi's aim is only the rich business community's vikaas therefore, the farmers got deprived of their privileges. You had 60 days to solve this, there was absolute declaration about their march to the Red Fort on the R-Day.

There is nothing surprising. However, the color of the flag hoisted is your problem to investigate. It could also have been a VHP flag - you see ? The situation is exactly similar in the nation. BJP has destroyed the harmonious fabric of the nation.

    Now, solve it !
