Pakistan pilot spots 'an extraordinary object' in the sky

Islamabad, Jan 28 (IANS): The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has confirmed that a pilot of a Lahore-bound flight spotted "an extraordinary object" in the sky last week, media reports said on Thursday.

The Dawn newspaper quoted a PIA spokesperson as saying that the pilot spotted the object on January 23 in airspace between Multan and Sahiwal.

The pilot spotted "something over 1,000 feet above his aircraft, which was at an altitude of 35,000 feet, and he made a video which was circulating on social media", the flag carrier's spokesperson was further quoted as saying.

"It is too early to say for sure what he had actually witnessed. It cannot necessarily be a flying saucer," he said, adding that the incident was being looked into as per the standard operating procedures.

In a separate report, Geo News said the object was "extremely bright" despite the presence of sunlight.
