Kundapur, Feb 1: Rural station (Kandloor) police arrested four cattle thieves accused of stealing three cows that were grazing at Korgi of the taluk.
Shankar Kulal, Ashfaque, Siraj and Saini are the arrested accused. Acting upon definite information, the accused were arrested near the Byndoor check post.
A case was registered in the police station on January 22 about three cattle being stolen at Korgi when they were left for grazing. These belonged to Sharath Shetty of Korgi. Out of this one cow was pregnant also.
Girija Shetty, a family member of Sharath Shetty, who has lost the cattle had appealed to the administration to provide justice. Kundapur BJP Yuva Morcha has also urged the police to take the cow thieves to the task. A warning was also given to the police department of holding a protest in front of the office of DySP in Kundapur if the accused were not arrested within a week.
BJP delegation led by zonal president Shankara Ankadakatte, BJP Kundapur president Avinash Ulthoor had met DySP Srikanth and appealed to apprehend the accused as soon as possible.
