Mangalorean Architect Oscar Concessao Bags Indian Building Congress Award for Excellence


New Delhi, Jun 23: Architect Oscar Concessao has won the Indian Building Congress Award for Excellence in Built Environment 2009, for the Project Citilights Meadows Apartments, Chennai. 



The Award function was held on June 17th, at the Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Architect Oscar Concessao received the Award from S Jaipal Reddy, Hon'ble Union Minister for Urban Development & Mangat Ram Singhal, Hon'ble Minister of NCT, Delhi.  He is a Mangalorean and did his schooling at St. Aloysius, Mangalore.
 
He has been winning architectural awards consistently over the years. This is the third award won this year, recently he had won the Archidesign National Public Jury Award in March 2010, and the Southern Regional Archi Design Award in January 2010 at Bangalore. 
 
Last year he won the prestigious National Award for Architectural Excellence from the Indian Institute of Architects. Notable are the Indian Building Congress National Award from his Excellency Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India in 2004.
