Mangaluru, Feb 4: On February 4, 2021, Founder's day was celebrated at Lourdes Central School (LCS) with great zeal. The joy doubled when the students of class VI to VIII were welcomed back to school on the same occasion.
The programme commenced with the blessings of God Almighty and a welcome song. Ivan Mascarenhas led the choir group comprising of class IX students. Megan D'souza of class IX spoke on the significance of the day and said that the motive of the founder was to provide value-based education to all. The dignitaries on the Dais, Dr J B Saldanha, the manager, Fr Robert D’Souza, the principal and Belita Mascarenhas, the vice-principal offered floral tribute to the Late founder.
Saira Pinto reminisced the great deeds, selfless contributions and highlighted the values of discipline, punctuality and dedication of the founder. The principal, Fr Robert Dsouza welcomed the students of Classes VI to VIII and appreciated the efforts of parents and teachers. He recalled the memories of the founder and inspired the students to inculcate the values he taught.
The manager, Dr John Baptist Saldanha was indeed happy to see the students in school in large number and appreciated them, their parents and the entire staff of LCS for their sincere efforts and asked them to continue their life with positivity, and sensitivity to the needs of people around. He motivated the students to be disciplined, obedient and respectful person. He also appreciated the principal Fr Robert.
Dsouza for his hard efforts in the development of the school. The vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas explained the rules of etiquette and Anita Thomas briefed the Covid-19 safety norms.
The programme was concluded by singing the school anthem. Raizel Dsilva and Steve D’mello of class IX compered the programme under the guidance of Shamitha Machado.
