Bengaluru: Bar associations boycotting court proceedings to face cases

Bengaluru, Feb 12: The high court has viewed the incidents in which Mandya and Davanagere district bar associations boycotted court proceedings for different reasons. It directed registration of suo moto cases in such incidents.

A division bench of the high court comprising Chief Justice A S Oka and Justice Sachin Shankar Mugdam, which took up the application questioning the action of the bar associations in staying away from court hearings for consideration, ordered issuance of notices to the office bearers and also the bar associations, before adjourning the hearing.

The high court observed that the bar associations at the district level should not bar the court proceedings at a time when the situation is returning to normalcy.
