Udupi, Feb 13: Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode math on Friday February 12 inaugurated the committee office of the renovated Sri Mahishamardhini temple.
In his address, Sri Vishwavallabha Swamiji said, "Sri Mahashamardini temple is located in the heart of the city. Kadiyali village is the heart of Udupi. There is the belief that whatever work takes place, it originates from God’s mind. It should be determined by God first. So today, God has blessed this occasion. There is an intimate relation between Sri Krishna math and Mahishamardini temple since ancient times. Gifts will be offered to this Durgalaya by the Krishna math every week. During Navarathri, there is a religious ritual conducted by the math. It is believed that Mahishamardini is the sister of Lord Sri Krishna. This temple is very close to me because I grew up here in Kadiyali. My purvashrama resides in the same village and the family members worshipped and served here in the temple for several years. Hence, this temple is a well-known place. I wish that the renovation work of the temple completes at the earliest. Let God fulfill all the wishes of the devotees."
