Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah questions BJP, Sangh Parivar on issue of reservation

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Feb 14: Former chief minister and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah on Sunday February 14 hit out at BJP over its stand on caste-based reservation.

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah lambasted BJP and Sangh Parivar. "Is it an honest awakening for the BJP leaders, who were opposing reservation for a long time, voicing their concern on reservation? Is this a political trick to mislead the fight for social justice?

"Who are the ones who opposed the Mandal Commission report and burnt themselves? Who were the ones who got down to streets to protest against reservation in higher education? Rama Jois, who had questioned the reservation in local bodies belongs to which political party? Will you answer please?" he said.

"Why is Sangh Parivar, which used to say that caste was hell and Dharma heaven and holds Hindu Samajotsava saying that 'We are all Hindus, We are one', is sponsoring caste conventions now? Will anyone answer? Innocent public should not become victims to the plot of leaders of Sangh Parivar, who intend to mislead the fight for social injustice, by creating controversies and making the communities fight one against the other," he said.

"Against whom the ruling party in the state are protesting on the streets? If anyone has forgotten, I would like to remind them that the governments that are ruling in our state as well as centre are of BJP. Narendra Modi is our PM and Yediyurappa is our chief minister. The law made by the Congress government to increase the reservation to 73% in line with the model followed in Tamil Nadu is the only solution for the demand to increase the reservation. The implementation of the same is in the hands of the central BJP government.

"The survey done in Karnataka on social, educational and economical status of the people is the answer for the court which is asking for proof to increase the reservation. If the state BJP government is supporting the increase in reservation, then they should accept the survey that is already done and implement the recommendations," he said.

Siddu is playing caste politics with an eye to Dalit votes. He will not be content until a Dalit is elected (or appointed) as CM, even as PM of the country, and as CJI as well as Army Chief, to make India a Maha Dalit nation. We already have dalit President. Siddu should become their leader. It will be a minority rule, to keep the majority in their place. May be there should be a constitutional amendment.
