Udupi: Revision of government, private bus fares urged

Udupi, Feb 17: Sadananda Chatra, the general secretary of Karnataka State Bus Owners Federation urged the state government to revise the bus fares of private operators and government transport corporation's at the same time.

In his statement, Chatra said, "Diesel rates have increased by Rs 23/litre. The public transport corporations KSRTC, NWKRTC, NEKRTC have submitted the recommendation to increase the bus fares by 20%. In our recent meeting with the transport minister and officials of the department, the federation had requested the concerned to increase the bus fares all over the state at the same time. The minister had positively responded to our request. Private and public transport bus fares should be increased at the same time," he said.

    Instead of Increasing the Fare why can't you people fight with our Elected representatives to bring down the tax amount . For example basic price for Petrol is Rs. 36/- per ltr and balance is Tax . i have not seen this type of price in my life time even when the price for crude oil is 140 doller per Barrel Don't try to increase the fares as this will effect the General Public as Salaries are not increased.
