21 year old found dead at Wagholi flat in Pune

Pune, Feb 22: A 22-year-old youth was found dead in a flat in Wagholi area on Sunday, February 21. The police suspected it to be a case of suicide. Sameer Gaikwad, the deceased was was active on social media and had a considerable following, police added.

An officer who was at duty at Lonikand police station said that Prafulla Gaikwas had alerted the police about the incident. Prafulla is said to have been alerted by a friend of Sameer who told him that the youth was found dead in his flat located on Kesnand Road in Wagholi.

Lonikand police official said that the though the initial probe indicated suicide, further investigation would ascertain the sequence of events that caused Sameer's death.

Statements of the family members of Sameer and others connected to the case would be recorded, officials said.
