Udupi: Extension of ISPRL crude oil storage second unit, 210 acre land needed – MP Shobha Karandlaje

Udupi, Feb 23: "210 acre of land is required for extension of second stage ISPRL crude oil storage second unit at Padur. Pay the highest compensation to the displaced people as per revised union government’s land acquisition rules," said MP Shobha Karandlaje to KIADB officials. She was speaking after presiding over the meeting at the district panchayat auditorium over the extension project on Sunday.

"410 barrel crude oil can be stored in the new facility. Conduct a new survey to prevent damages to the houses, 800-year-old Jain Basadi in the vicinity and prepare a map. Increase the SR price of land at Padur.

"Primary survey for the extension is already done. Notices will have to be issued to 227 people that are losing their land. Notices are issued to 30 people out of whom three people have rejected. The addresses of others are being identified to issue notices. 30 days’ time limit is allowed to raise objections."

MLA Lalaji R Mendon, district panchayat president Dinaker Babu, deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh, CEO Dr Navin Bhat, ASP Kumar Chandra, district panchayat member Shilpa Suvarna, Kaup Taluk panchayat president Shashiprabha, ISPRL officer Ajay, Rajashekar and people who will be displaced were present.
