Mangaluru, Feb 24: District Congress to carry out a protest rally from Bavutagudda to DC office on March 2 against price hike of petrol, diesel and gas cylinder, informed district Congress president, Harish Kumar.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, February 23, Harish Kumar said, "The petrol price has crossed Rs 100 mark in few states. Today discussion has been started over the comparisons between UPA and NDA government. The price hike has led to the increase of price in commodities, autos, taxis and even 70% of boats are unmoved. Narendra Modi-led government is directly responsible for the hike, on the other hand, the finance minister does not know anything about the economy."
"The central government is cracking a joke of the decade where they alleged that the UPA government was responsible for the price hike. They keep on saying that India has witnessed drastic changes in the 6-7 years compared to 60 years of UPA government. BJP need to tell people about their achievement in the last 6-7 years," said Harish Kumar.
"So we have decided to take a protest rally from Bavutagudda to DC office on March 2. We are in constant touch with bus associations, rickshaw associations to take part in the protest rally, we will also stop the bus and rickshaw movement till 2 pm on that day," said Harish Kumar.
Former MLA Ramanath Rai, corporator Shashidhar Hegde, MCC opposition leader Abdul Rauf, Prakash Salian, Vishwas Das and others were present.
