Mangaluru: Konkani serial ‘Godfather’ to be aired on Daijiworld TV 24*7 from February 26

Mangaluru, Feb 24: ‘Godfather’, the much-awaited Konkani serial will be telecasted on Daijiworld TV 24*7 from February 26 onwards.

The telecast is scheduled on very Friday at 9 pm and will be repeated on Saturday at 10 am and Sunday at 4 pm. For online viewers, the episodes of the serial will be available on Daijiworld’s latest OTT platform ‘Localwood’.

The 25-minute serial visualizes the tussle between an NRI father and his children over the issue of property. Partially, the plot narrates the interference of Catholic parish in the current commercial-minded society.

After the success of ‘Mrs Meena and Family’, ‘Godfather’ is the second directorial of the very creative and talented Stany Bela. He has also written the script and screen play for this serial.

“’Godfather’ has a serious plot dealing with the agony of a central character. The entire story highlights the behaviour of the commercial-minded society and fracas over property and wealth. I retained the entire team of the much-loved ‘Mrs Meena and Family’ for this serial too. Meanwhile, more than 15 new artistes have acted in this serial as beginners and juniors. I am quite happy with my work and performance of our team,” says Stany Bela.

Rons London has produced ‘Godfather’ under the banner ‘RR Films International’ for Daijiworld TV 24*7. Rons has earlier produced Konkani movies ‘Planning Devachem’ and ‘Mangalore to Goa’ and a few Tulu movies as a co-producer. ‘Godfather’ is the first television serial produced by him. Being a good actor, he has acted in the serial too.

Well-known artistes Mellu Valencia, Jeevan Vas Kulshekar, Sapna Saldanha Vamanjoor, Rita Fernandes Bendur, Shanthi Priya Lasrado Bondel, Joshel D'Souza Derebail, Shweta Vas Kulshekar, Sheldon Tauro Bondel, Jewel Bajjodi and Alwyn Danthi will be seen playing major characters in the serial. Kiran Kotian Kepu, Durga Prasad Kakkepadav and Daya Kukkaje have handled the DOP and unit.

Music arranger Ashith Glen Pinto has rendered music for ‘Godfather’. Noel Puttur has worked as the editor of the serial. The title song is written by Glany Fernandes and sung by Mohammad Iqbal, Katipalla.

The dubbing of the serial was done at Daijiworld Audio Media Pvt Ltd and mixed by sound engineer Srinivas Srikanth.
