Mangaluru: Glass roofed Vistadome coaches may be used on Bengaluru route

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 24: Vistadome coaches with attractively designed glass roofs, which have been recently introduced in the railways, are likely to be included in the Bengaluru-Mangaluru train.

A Vistadome coach sanctioned by the Indian Railways arrived at Bengaluru division of southwestern railway two days back. By March 15, it is likely to be attached to a railway engine and be available to serve the passengers.

Public relations officer of Bengaluru division, E Vijay, said that a decision about which train this Vistadome coach will be made a part of, has not yet been taken.

Vistadome coaches have 40 luxury seats which rotate 360 degrees. During the day, it provides more opportunities to enjoy the picturesque nature during the run.

The likelihood of this coach being made part of Mangaluru train is more because of the fact that the Subrahmanya-Sakleshpur stretch of the railway line provides a breath-taking view including ghat road, thick forests, falls and hills.

The tax payer money is used to build these coaches but will be named after Adani Ambani Railways. Ahmed, Karkala... I am not surprised, the bhakts think that india developed only after 2014! I think, you should read the history again right from the day we got independence to 2014 but, it may not go into your thick skull as you are blind sided by EVM's magic!

All passenger train tickets will be doubled within few months from now. Does people want these kind of show breaking their back bones? India must realise that slow and steady wins the race. Present Govt trying to fix everything very fast by riding on peoples shoulders. This kind of progress will not sustain long, because the users of these facilities must have enough income for certain period of time

Everybody thinks about only their lifetime for development. Development doesn't happen in a single lifetime. We look at other countries trains and make fun of our trains. What did Congress govt do all these years. If they did even an ounce of what the current govt is doing we would be having full AC trains with beautiful coaches. That would've been the norm like in other developed countries. The current govt is trying to build this for the future generations and we always things about our lives. Come on...running a country is not easy and development takes time!

Ahmed of Karkala has responded that Congress govt did not make all the coaches air conditioned. Well Indians pay the cheapest train fares compared to other countries and maintaining air conditioned coaches if not beneficial if rates are not increased. Poor and middle class people do not need expensive train travel but cheaper reasonable tickets. They need to travel from point A to point B, they do not need beautiful train hostess to serve them expensive meals. Those who can afford more, there are AC Coaches. They can be be modified with more amenities but common man should not be burderned with expensive ticket costs.

India needs faster growth to create millions of jobs. Because of government spending, some negative affects of Covid-19 on the economy has been negated. The good part of NDA so far is that clearly, it is much less corrupt especially at the highest levels and they have been completing major projects announced or on track for completion well before 2024. NDA came to power with a lot of expectations from people. Sure, there are sketchy achievements here and there, but overall, it has delivered. Covid certainly put a break on the speed, but I think, efforts made to fast track some of the major projects. Local leadership need to take initiatives to get things moving at the local level.
