Mangaluru, Feb 25: Karnataka deputy chief minister (DCM) Dr Ashwath Narayan, termed SDPI as the B team of the Congress. He alleged that the Congress has contributed to the growth of SDPI.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday February 24, he reacted to allegations made by a number of Congress leaders about the SDPI being the B team of the BJP. He said that the SDPI could gain in eminence because of the withdrawal of cases outstanding against SDPI and PFI activists when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister. He accused the Congress of helping the outfit to grow.
He said that time has come to ban organizations which violate law and that proofs are being put together to ban PFI.
On the issue of reservation, he noted that it is but natural for various communities to seek reservation facility. He said that the people as a whole believe that reservations should not exceed 50 percent. He said that the government has to take a decision, and assured that the government will undertake detailed studies and take a stand that is constitutionally expected from it.
About a JD(S) leader having been appointed as the mayor in Mysuru city corporaiton, he said that the BJP will not face any problem out of this understanding. He said his party does not believe in forcing anyone. He said everyone knows what happened when the Congress and the JD(S) had formed a coalition here.
