Panaji: Police nab three for prostitution

Panaji, Mar 1: Three persons were arrested by the Calangute police with charges of operating a prostitution racket.

Acting on a tip-off received that some pimps would be arriving to Dolphin circle to deliver a woman for prostitution, the police kept a vigilant watch and nabbed the accused when they came in a car with the victim.

The accused are identified as Akbar Ali (34), from Laddakh, Prana Jena (40) from Odisha, and Neha Khatun (22) from Kolkata. The three have been booked under Section 370 of the IPC and Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

The victim was lodged at Apna Ghar, Merces.
