Puttur, Mar 2: The president, Fr Vijay Lobo, principal of St Philomena PU College expressed his gratitude to the physical directors for organizing the kabaddi tournament and the volunteers for their dedication. He added that sports help students to handle failures in life.

Sudhir Kumar, the principal of Government PU College, Uppinangady said that teamwork is the key to success. He advised the students that participation is very important and not to bother about the result.

The chief guests, Surendra Rai the president of Puttur Taluk Kabaddi Association and Prasanna Rai, Sizzler soft drinks, Samethadka, Elias Pinto, physical director of St Philomena College and Rajesh Mooliya, physical director of St Philomena PU College were present on the occasion.

The winners were honored on the occasion.

In the boys' team, the winners' trophy was bagged by Government PU College, Uppinangady and runners' trophy was bagged by St Philomena PU College, Puttur. Rakshith, St Philomena PU College, Puttur bagged the Best Rider trophy, Mohammad Nishan of Government PU College, Uppinangady bagged the Best Catcher trophy, All Rounder Trophy was bagged by Mithun, Government PU College, Uppinangady.

In the girls' team, the winners' trophy was bagged by St Philomena PU College, Puttur and runners' trophy was bagged by Vivekananda PU College, Puttur. Angel, St Philomena PU College secured the Best Rider trophy, Krithika of Vivekananda PU College, Puttur bagged the Best Catcher trophy, All Rounder Trophy was bagged by Jaya Nivedha, St Philomena PU College, Puttur.

Elias Pinto, physical director, St Philomena College, Puttur welcomed the gathering. Bharath Kumar, department of Political Science proposed the vote of thanks. Usha Yashawanth from the department of Kannada compered the programme.
