State Assembly to discuss ‘One nation-One poll’ on March 4, 5

Bengaluru, Mar 2: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly will discuss the ruling BJP’s pet theme, espoused by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and all national party leaders, ‘One nation-One poll’, for two days on March 4 and 5.

Addressing the media on the budget session Speaker Visveshwara Hegde Kageri he said the House would meet for 19 days and the session would conclude on March 31.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who also holds the finance portfolio, would table the state budget for 2021-22 on Monday, March 8.

The Speaker appealed to members to come prepared for the dissuasion on one nation-one poll theme and said a summary of the discussion would be sent to Election Commission of India and other institutions concerned.

As in the last session, the legislature would be conducted with a host of safety measures in place to ensure the physical distance and other norms to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Members who are not keeping well can skip the session, he said.

This time only members of the public would be allowed to watch the proceedings of the Assembly from the gallery.

However, no students would be allowed to watch the proceedings, he said.
