Mangaluru, Mar 6: Days after the district administration razed down 'Goshala' in Kenjar to pave way for the construction of Indian Coast Guard Training Academy, former mayor and All India Congress Committee member Kavitha Sanil slammed BJP leaders and termed them as 'fake Gau Rakshaks'.

Addressing the press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Saturday March 6, she said, “Hindus revere cattle as God. It is believed that a cow is the abode of 33 crores Hindu God and Goddesses. By demolishing its shelter, 300 cattle were made shelterless.

"The MP and MLAs who seek votes in the name of cattle are now silent. None are coming forward to provide shelter to the innocents animals,” she said.

She also said that BJP leaders will surely face the curse of these innocent animals.

“We are not against the construction of the training academy. If a government land is encroached, take action against the wrongdoers. The district administration should have demolished the structure after shifting the cattle to any other Goshala. But now, they have made the cattle shelterless. Is this love towards cattle not fake then?” she questioned.

“I respect RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. But, in the Kenjar incident, he is saying that there was no Goshala there. The person who speaks about Hindutva and cattle is speaking like this which is sad.

“Ministers and MLAs had visited this Goshala and performed Go pooja. After the structure was demolished and cattle were shelterless, why none of the BJP leaders visited the spot?” she questioned.

Kavitha also demanded to provide alternate facilities for the shelterless cattle.

Sadashiv Ullal, Santhosh Shetty, Prakash Salian, Deepak Poojary, Neeraj Pal, Purshotham Chitrapura, Rajanish and others were present.
