Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Mar 13: The younger brothers of Asma Electricals proprietor, president of Minority Morcha is alleged to have assaulted a Dalit worker collecting trash in Udupi municipal council. All the civic workers of 35 wards and members of the self-help group have decided to protest in front of the office of Udupi municipal council on March 15 condemning the assault. They have requested the contractors for segregating waste to join the protests that will be held for requesting to provide protection to the civic workers.

Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha committee Ambedkar logic district chief convener Sundar Master said that during assault on Dalit worker by BJP Minority Morcha office bearers, BJP‘s wings Bajrang Dal, Srirama Sene, VHP, Hindu Yuva Sene and several such communalist organizations had condemned the act of their own office bearer and urged for suitable legal action just because the one who assaulted was a Muslim. However during the murder of Praven Poojary, BJP office bearers had remained mum just because the murder suspect was a Hindu. The double standards of BJP and their organizations are exposed here. Muslims should understand it, he said.

He has requested all the resident of Udupi, progressive organizations, Dalit organizations and campaigners to join in the protests and cooperate.
