Rahul attacks Centre over fuel price hike

New Delhi, Mar 14 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked the Centre over the soaring fuel prices.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi: "Gas, Diesel, Petrol have been heavily taxed, while PSU, PSB are sold to friends to snatch jobs and facilities of common man. The rule of PM is to sell the country and give benefits to friends (sic)."

Both the fuel is on the boil in the country with the pump price of petrol and diesel rising by 26 times in 2021 by Rs 7.46 and Rs 7.60 per litre respectively so far this year. Petrol price has also breached the Rs 100 a litre-mark in several cities.

The rising fuel prices are impacting the demand conditions in India, according to the official data, the country's fuel consumption fell sharply in February, the second consecutive month when demand was slowing signs of a slackening amid rising fuel prices.

    Modi bhakths keep reiterating congress ruined the country since past 70yrs. From a desperately hungry, illiterate and poor country when it received in 1947, till 2014, BJP says congress did nothing for the country only corruption. People voted for a change to Modi in 2014, repeated it again 2019. In return, the entire country is ruined economically and socially. DeMo, GST and unplanned implementation of lockdown since the past 6yrs resulted in crores and crores of job losses and people losing their livelihood. When asked bhakths jump into the defense, intent was good but implementation was bad. They wont give that benefit of doubt to Congress that ruled 70yrs and lead the country to poor to one among the strongest 10 in the world. Just when Bhakths thought that defense is working, now that the petrol prices gone above INR100 per ltr. They are now forced to admit. Modi led BJP is a total bad experience and flop show.
