Udupi: 'Congress not strong enough to be in opposition' - RC Morcha prez Narayan Swamy

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, Mar 15: “Reservations are provided to all the backward classes and tribes. The government has also prepared a committee for it. The government will make a decision on further reservations,” state RC Morcha president Chalavadi Narayan Swamy said.

Speaking at a news conference in the district BJP office on Monday, Swamy said, "Congress has always been misleading Dalits for vote bank politics. Now, the community has realised what Congress does. With the votes of the Dalits no longer swinging in favour of Congress the party is unable to maintain the position as an opposition."

“Dalits have been asking for the post of chief minister for the last 70 years. Congress never gave them that opportunity. They have given them the position of deputy commissioner once when there was a coalition government. The Dalits are now leaving Congress and joining BJP,” he said.

“State Congress president has given clean chit to the person who set fire to the house of Dalit MLA. Campaigns are in progress to cover the rift between KPCC and Siddaramaiah. BJP cannot be defeated as the Dalit organization is supporting the party. Congress has also influenced Muslims. BJP will win 150 seats and make the government stronger again,” he said.

Dinakar Babu, chief secretary of SC Morcha, Nagesh Devanahalli, treasurer and others were present.
