Court Accepts Ahmadi's Resignation from Bhopal Trust


New Delhi, Jul 19 (IANS): The Supreme Court Monday accepted the resignation of former chief justice A.M. Ahmadi as chairman of the Bhopal Memorial Hospital Trust.

The court accepted the central government's application to take over the hospital set up for the victims of Bhopal gas tragedy that had taken place in 1984.

The bench headed by Chief Justice S.H. Kapadia asked the central government to take steps to wind up the trust. The court placed on record its appreciation of the services rendered by Ahmadi.
