Gujarat sees 1,730 more Covid cases, four deaths


Gandhinagar, Mar 24 (IANS): Gujarat on Tuesday saw 1,730 new Covid cases, taking its tally to 2,90,379, while the death toll climbed to 4,458, with four more succumbing.

In March so far, the state has added 20,490 cases at a daily average of 891.

A total of 1,225 patients were discharged, taking the total to 2,77,603, while there were 8,318 active cases.

Surat saw 577 cases, Ahmedabad 509, Vadodara 162, Rajkot 140 and Kheda 41.

Gandhinagar and Jamnagar had 36 cases each, Bhavnagar 31, Kheda 24, Kutch 19, Mehsana 16, Anand, Patan, and Bharuch 15 each, Dahod and Sabarkantha 14 each, Narmada 13, Amreli 11, Morbi 10, Banaskantha and Mahisagar nine each, Panchmahals, Surendranagar, and Valsad seven each, Tapi six, Devbhoomi Dwarka five, Chotta Udepur four, Aravalli and Navsari three each, Botad and Gir-Somnath two each and Porbandar one.

Two deaths each were reported from Ahmedabad and Surat.

A total of 2,25,555 people were vaccinated on Tuesday, taking the state's total to 41,03,741, out of which 34,94,277 persons have received their first dose and 6,09,464 their second shot.
