Customs officials at Mangaluru airport seize gold worth Rs 57.14 lac from Dubai returnee

Mangaluru, Mar 26: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport on Friday March 26 seized over a kilo of gold that was being smuggled by a passenger.

The passenger detained was Ismail Ahamad Kallar from Kasargod. He had arrived from Dubai in SpiceJet flight No SG146. Gold in powder form mixed with solid gum concealed in his undergarments and gold in form of crude chains totally weighing 1.23 kg was seized. The seized gold recovered is worth Rs 57,14,940.

The operation was led by Dr Kapil Gade IRS, deputy commissioner. Crucial role of surveillance and interception was executed by superintendents Shrikanth K, Nagesh Kumar and Naveen.

    Why these people still take the risk of smuggling even after knowing well that they will be caught anyway? They are gaining nothing but only bring a bad name to the place they hail from!!

    Tomato sellers will throw some tomatoes after he finishes his selling of full cart load or basket since these tomatoes might got too much ripe and smashed or spoiled or damaged. So because some tomatoes gets wasted every time means he should not sell tomatoes. Out of 1000 success only one or two failures. Note EDISON spoils 1000 bulbs to make one successful bulb that lights your house.
