BJP says No to PM's Lunch Invitation

New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) The BJP Friday turned down Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's lunch invitation ahead of parliament's monsoon session following the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoning Gujarat minister Amit Shah in connection with the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh killing.

"Four of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leaders were invited for the PM's luncheon meeting but we decided not to attend it over the bitter atmosphere following CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) summon to Shah," said Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

The monsoon session of parliament starts July 26.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has been accused of killing Sohrabuddin Sheikh near Ahmedabad in a staged shootout in 2005. His wife Kauser-Bi has also been missing since then. Police claimed he was a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative.

BJP or Comg policy of honoring CBI defends up on their rulimg in centre!Shame on political parties.Lokapal/Ombudsman in national level institution's Bill should introduced in Parliment to bring PM/CM/MP/MLAs to bring them under Lokapal juridiction.

The problem with CBI is it was formed under Delhi police act. Some sates have given blaqnket permission to interefere CBI while some states not and which needs states permission to enter up on.The SC/HC also have the right to order CBI enquiery if nessarry arrives. Therefore an independent national investigation agency requires with tooth(SUMO-MOTO) and costitutional power.

This is the mindset of BJP. BJP do not want the law to take its own course for the crime done by the BJP minister.

CBI is enquiring as per the direction of Supreme Court and it is sad that BJP is politicising the case. This shows their disrespect to the highest court in the country.

Don't be surprised if BJP behaves the same way if Reddy brothers are tried by CBI for their mining crime on later date.
