Bantwal: Police Raid Illegal Abattoir - Three Arrested

Bantwal, Jul 25:
Police team led by Puttur ASP Dr Amith Singh raided a rented house at Kelaginapete here on Sunday July 25 and arrested three persons including the owner for running an illegal abattoir.
 
The arrested are Abu Sali, Noushir and Abdul Latif.

Police sources informed that Abu Sali was the chief accused while Noushir and Abdul Latif were employed as butchers by Sali. 
 
The same house was raided a few years ago for illegally slaughtering cattle and selling meat.  It was shut down soon after. However, Abu Sali began using the house to illegally slaughter cattle a few days ago before the police raided the place and seized two colts and three cows.
 
Circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda, town sub-inspector Vivekanand and other policemen were involved in the operation.
