Doha, Apr 3: A 38-year-old man hailing from Attavar, here, died while shopping at a local supermarket here.
The man identified as Sameer Ahmed Umar Kenjar was shopping at a supermarket near his residence, here, when he collapsed due to a cardiac arrest. The local people who saw him, took him to a well-known local Hamad hospital by ambulance but he passed away at 2.05 am on March 29 without responding to treatment.
As Sameer used to be aloof, his family members could be informed only on March 31 through the hospital staff. His family members Mustafa and Zubair in Qatar who were devastated by the news informed their plight to Qatar Indian Social Forum leaders.
The QISF team of Imtiaz Karnad, Bashir Ahmed, Khalid Mohsin and Vazeer Punjalkatte gathered the details to identify the deceased, informed his family members and obtained permission from them to conduct the last rites of the deceased in Qatar itself. They also contacted the police department, hospital and the Indian embassy officials and collected the necessary documents within a day.
Qatar Indian Social Forum performed the last rites under the leadership of QISF leaders, activists after Asr Namaz on Friday evening April 2 at Abu Hamoor burial ground, Qatar in the presence of the family members of the deceased and members of other organizations.
Sameer has left behind his wife, two children, mother and family members in Mangaluru. QISF is praying that the Almighty may help the family of the deceased to bear the loss.
