AP martyr in Chhattisgarh encounter was to get married

Amaravati, Apr 6 (IANS): Shakamuri Muralikrishna, one of the martyred CRPF jawans from Andhra Pradesh in the recent Chhattisgarh encounter was supposed to get married in May but succumbed to the Maoists' bullets.

Muralikrishna (32) hails from Gudipudi village in Guntur district's Sattenapalli mandal, belonging to a humble agricultural family.

He was the younger son of Shakamuri Ravindra Babu and Vijayakumari and joined the paramilitary force six years ago.

Belonging to Cobra 210 division, Muralikrishna was serving in Chhattisgarh.

Though he was initially supposed to get married in August 2020, his marriage got postponed because of a death in the family.

The soon to get married jawan called his mother on Thursday and informed that his leave was sanctioned and he would come home on May 15.

However, all of Muralikrishna's future plans went awry after the gunbattle with the Maoists in Bijapur.

Along with Muralikrishna, another jawan from AP died in the encounter, Routhu Jagadeesh.

Jagadeesh hailed from Gajularega in Vizianagaram district.

On Monday, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an ex-gratia of Rs 30 lakh to each of their families.
