TN senior citizen dies before voting


Chennai, Apr 6 (IANS): A senior citizen collapsed and died near a polling booth in Thanjavur district where he was going to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election on Tuesday, a poll official said.

The 61-year-old man, whose name was not revealed, was on his way to the polling booth near his residence in Papanasam constituency, but a few metres away, he swooned and fell down.

People nearby gave him water and he was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
