Bengaluru, Apr 13: Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa clarified that there is no question of imposing lockdown as of now. Rumours are rife that the state government will impose lockdown again in the wake of increasing cases of Covid second wave infections in the state.

Health minister Dr Sudhakar also said that technical advisory committee has suggested for lock down in the state. But the CM has denied all these and said that there will not be any lockdown in the state in near future.

Speaking to scribes, Yediyurappa said, "I am also in the technical advisory committee and no one has suggested to lockdown. Do not give false information. There is no question of imposing lockdown in the state in near future. Public has to support us to prevent the spread of second wave of coronavirus. If people forget this, there will be disaster. We will decide about controlling the pandemic after getting suggestions in the all-party meeting."

Yediyurappa also expressed regret on the statement of D K Shivakumar that he will not attend the all-party meeting. Yediyurappa said that it was Shivakumar who asked for an all-party meeting but now he is saying that he will not attend. It is left to him to attend the meeting or not, the CM said.
