Kasargod, Apr 13: There is a rise of coronavirus cases in the district. While 430 Covid cases were confirmed, 62 people were discharged on Tuesday. Meanwhile, 2,909 people are undergoing treatment. 10,128 are under observation.
Covid was confirmed altogether among 35,014 people so far. 31,780 people have recovered.
Stringent Covid protocol has been implemented in Kasargod. Shops, traders and restaurants are asked to close their business before 9 pm every day.
Only up to 100 guests are permitted in wedding halls and 200 in open places. Passengers are not allowed to stand and travel in trains. The passengers will have to be restricted to the number of seats in trains.
A maximum of 100 people is permitted inside religious places while 200 people can take part if the prayers are held out in open. The duration of religious programmes should not exceed two hours. Food if any can be served only as parcels. The district administration is entrusted with the responsibility to ensure that the number of devotees in Iftar parties remains within restricted limits.
The respective district administrations have been permitted to identify places where the infected are more and announce them as containment zones.
There has been a spike in the number of infections in Kerala from 6000 to 7000 in the last week. It has raised concern for the health department. The Covid that was under control is progressing towards high figures after Vidhan Sabha elections.
