Bantwal: Recklessness of pick-up truck driver causes accidental death

Bantwal, Apr 14: After a pick-up truck that was being driven recklessly at high speed hit a two-wheeler at Surbail road bend near Vittal, one was injured and the two-wheeler rider died without responding to treatments.

The deceased was Santosh (35), resident of Thokottu. Pillion rider, Ranjith, survived with injuries. He has been admitted into the government hospital at Mangaluru.

The pick-up that was moving towards Salethur had hit the scooter that was moving towards Kalladka from the direction of Salethur, when the accident occurred. Both the scooter rider and the pillion rider were injured in the accident after being tossed to the road.

Both were admitted into the government hospital at Bantwal and then taken to the district government Wenlock Hospital at Mangaluru for advanced treatment. Santosh however, breathed his last after sometime.

A report about the accident was registered in Vittal police station.
