Bantwal: Polali temple staff returns lost gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lac to owner

Bantwal, Apr 14: Ravi Ugrani, a member of the Polali temple staff, gave ample proof of his honesty when he returned gold ornaments worth about seven lac rupees to the true owner. The ornaments, belonging to Arkula Kampa Sadananda Alva, had been lost at the Polali annual festival.

Arkula Kampa Sadananda Alva, who is a Gadikar of Polali temple, had left his golden ornaments behind when going to take bath at the guest house of the temple, in the river Phalguni after the Ullaklu Magrantayi Daiva Nema held a day after the Polali car festival which concluded recently. After the Bhandara returned to the Tuppekallu shrine, Alva returned home. He did not notice the absence of the ornaments till the afternoon.

Temple employee, Ravi Ugrani, who noticed the ornaments, brought this to the notice of the managing trustee of the temple. Temple managing trustee, Dr Manjaiah Shetty, called Sadananda Alva to inform him about the finding of the ornaments.

Ravi Ugrani was congratulated for his honesty and integrity in the presence of Pavirtrapani Madhava Adiga of the temple. As a token of appreciation for his honesty, a gift was also presented. Arkula Kampa Dayananda Alva and Dinesh Shetty Kottinja were present.
