Rahul Gandhi attacks govt on Covid surge

New Delhi, Apr 15 (IANS): Amid surging Covid cases, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked the government on shortage of beds and ventilators in hospitals.

Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet, "There is no test, no bed in the hospital, no ventilators, no oxygen, no vaccine, bus utsav ka dhong hai (a festive pretence)... PM cares?"

Rahul Gandhi's comments came after India reported an unprecedented surge in Covid with 2,00,739 cases recorded on Thursday, the biggest single day spike ever, taking the overall tally of infections 1,40,74,564, according to the Health Ministry data.

The former Congress president has been critical of the government on the issue of Covid management.

India also reported 1,038 new deaths on Thursday, which took the overall death toll to 1,73,123 in the country.

Modi wanted to take the credit in 2020 for controlling the Pandemic by his classic solutions of Ganti Bhajao Thali Maro etc unfortunately this Jhumla did not work and so once bitten twice shy. He is maintaining his usual deafening silence on the Covid Surge in 2021 similar to all the burning issues facing the nation except fighting state elections.

There is nothing more for the people to bang on except their forehead at the plight in which a reckless, careless and useless GOI is behaving. When Rahul asked that the foreign vaccine be permitted use in India the GOI Ministers jumped on Rahul like a bloodhound. Then came a U-turn to permit the use of SPUTNIK. If the GOI has still got time to exhibit that they lack commonsense then God alone should save our people. At this rate, other than the beard of the "Maan Ki Baat" man nothing in our country will grow. Why are they not banning political rallies and festivals especially dips in rivers which are going on in lakhs unabated.

Rahulji, Please pave way for a good leader as the Party President. Or else, improve yourself. Twitter has limited users compared to the population of India. Call for a press conference, ask your team to highlight it in every platform (same as BJP does for Man ki baath), get a nationwide attention for the press conference and present all data pertaining to Covid-19.
