Kuwait: Konkani Kullvar to Celebrate Konkani Day on Aug 20

Kuwait, Aug 1:
Konkani Kullvar, Kuwait, a Konkani Writer’s Forum, will be celebrating ‘Konkani Day’ on Friday August 20 at 6.00 pm at Indian Community Girls School, Salmiya, to commemorate the recognition accorded to Konkani language under the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution.
 
Kullvar announced that this show will be a tribute to Konkani musician ‘Konkan Kogul’ Wilfy Rebimbus.
 
A senior Konkani activist will be the chief guest on the occasion. 
 
Konkans who have been instrumental in the sustenance of Konkani in Kuwait will also be honoured during the programme.
 
Konkani choir group, Salmiya, will present melodious songs of Wilfy Rebimbus and Shaan Bondel will present a Konkani modern play ‘Xivonn’, directed by Lancy Pinto Nayak, Kulshekar, as part of the entertainment programme.
