St Agnes School on April 17 morning echoed with the blessings when the St Agnes family came together so bid adieu to the outgoing 2020-21 batch of Grade X. The holy eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by Fr Steven Lobo, Director of Carmel Kiran YouTube channel. In his homily, he guided the students to be unique and creative. He also encouraged the students to be thankful to their parents and teachers for molding them. During the offertory, the students willingly offered grocery items which were later distributed by the students to the inmates of Inchara- a home for the destitute Shivabagh, Bendur.
It was a morning of mixed emotions for everyone to witness the official send-off for the students of grade X at the valedictory ceremony. Sr Carmelrita AC the administrator of St Agnes College was the chief guest. The programme began by lighting the light of knowledge by the chief guest, principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC, vice-principal Sr Meera AC, academic coordinator, Sr Sweedal AC and Nayana Fernandes. The light of knowledge was later passed on to the students by the dignitaries. The students later took the oath to uphold the value and dignity of their alma mater. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. Students of grade IX organised a farewell programme with great enthusiasm.
The students of grade X glowed in white salwars and colorful shawls. Grade IX students welcomed all the outgoing students by offering a beautiful card with the message wishing them for the future. The farewell was a roller coaster ride of emotions. It started with an energetic welcome dance performance followed by a skit and ended with a nostalgic sharing of their memories by the grade IX students. Later, the students of grade X shared their 10 years of experience in school. The chief guest in her message asked the students to make God their strength which is the motto of St Agnes School. She then encouraged them to work hard always, to help others and to be good and obedient students. Sr Maria Gracilda AC showed the clipping on 'the eagle's mentality' and encouraged the students to fly high like an eagle and to be always on the top.
The teachers wished the students luck for their future. To etch the memories of these beautiful days the event concluded with a group photograph; and a memento as a token of love and a promise that there are no goodbyes for us. A sumptuous meal was organised by the principal for the outgoing students, teaching and support staff.
