Mumbai, Aug 3 (PTI): Private carrier Jet Airways on Monday announced that its check-in counters across six major airports will be closed 45 minutes prior to flight departures in the wake of new DGCA guidelines on reducing flight delays.
The new timings would be effective from August 4 and applicable on Jet Airways, JetLite and Jet Konnect flights, a press release said here.
"This in effect would mean that the airline will close check-in counters 15 minutes earlier in an effort to comply with the new directive from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)," the release said.
The six airports are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Besides, boarding gates for domestic flights at the six airports would now close 25 minutes prior to departure, the airline said.
The DGCA on July 19 had re-issued its earlier Air Transport Circular of October 2009, directing all airlines to follow certain procedures to ensure timely departure of flights.
