Bengaluru, Apr 22: Except for beds dedicated for dialysis, mother and child care and other life threatening diseases, all other beds in the hospitals will be made available for treatment of Covid positive patients, said Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Dr Sudhakar said beds dedicated for dialysis, mother and child care and other life threatening diseases will not be disturbed.

“This measure will enable the government to have over 7000 beds for treatment of Covid positive cases,’’ the minister said.

The Minister also said the State Government has decided to direct all nursing homes and hospitals with up to or less than 30 beds to mandatorily treat non-Covid patients.

All hospitals that have bed capacity of more than 30 will now have to dedicate 80% of the beds and ICU facility to the state government. So far it was only 50% now it will be made 80%, he said.

There is a medical emergency and private hospitals need to recognise this and work with the government and hand over 80% of the beds to the state government.

The state government will bear the cost of treatment and refund the money to these hospitals which treat Covid patients, Dr Sudhakar said.

What an intellectual this guy is!! Last week he was talking about Ambedkar and Bharat Ratna. Are you trying to say that doctors admit the patient to the hospital without any ailments?? You're not fit to be the health minister .

It should be left to the experienced doctors and trained nurses to see who needs the most help. Everything needs to be on a case by case basis. There may be people who may be mildly infected with covid and can manage at home but still unnecessarily insist on hospital treatment. Earmarking maximum beds for covid patients will leave less for other patients with serious non-covid cases and ailments. Let the hospital decide - the only rule that must be followed is that the hospital or clinic WILL NOT DENY medical care and treatment for any patient - covid or non-covid (what happened to that lady patient with dialysis and covid was sad and inexcusable on part of the hospital)

Blaming the past as BJP has been doing is not going to help us. We were left poor off by the British but we now need to be honest with ourselves and do something better for the present and future. The current government appears helpless or has advisors giving wrong suggestions.

You are correct! Doctors, finally say nothing more we can do, now it is in God's hand! Anointing Oil much much powerful than worldly vaccines. Also Fathers bless anointing oil every afternoon online at youtube Logos Bangalore And Bible says in James 5:14-15, 14 Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man: and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.
