Mangaluru, Apr 23: Beltangady taluk received heavy rain with lightning, thunder and strong wind on Thursday April 22. The rain and wind inflicted some damage at various places. A few roofs were damaged and areca nut trees were uprooted. Power outages were also reported from some places. Beltangady, Dharmasthala, Ujire, Madanthyar, and Venoor received good rainfall.

Puttur and Uppinangady also got heavy rain with thunder and lightning on Thursday evening.

The entire district had cloudy climate on Thursday and rain came in the evening. At night also there was sporadic rainfall, followed by some rain on Friday morning. The rain has cooled the temperature by a few notches.
