Mangaluru, Apr 23: Mangaluru police have taken into custody rowdy sheeter, 'Akash Bhavan' Sharan for a week in connection to the recent highway robbery case and for plotting murders of 'Monkey Stand' Vijay and Pradeep Mendon.
It is said that Sharan who was in Bengaluru jail and running criminal activities in Mangaluru had hatched a plan to eliminate rivals Pradeep Mendon and 'Monkey Stand' Vijay.
A total of nine people have been arrested by the police for robbery and for plotting murder. The arrested men were reportedly working under the directions of Sharan and hatching plan to kill Pradeep Mendon and 'Monkey Stand' Vijay. Among the nine arrested, Sharan’s brother, Dheeraj was coordinating with the gang to execute the plan as they wanted to establish a crime syndicate in Mangaluru.
Police maintain that 'Akash Bhavan' Sharan was the primary accused in the case, while the arrested nine people were carrying out criminal activities under his directions.
Sharan has over 20 cases registered against him including a recent Bantwal murder case.
