Don't spend on PR, focus on vaccine & oxygen: Rahul to Center

New Delhi, Apr 24 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed the Centre for spending money on PR exercise at a time when the country is facing a tough battle against the raging pandemic.

Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, "I appeal to the Union government with humility not to spend money on unnecessary PR projects and focus on the vaccine, oxygen availability and health services, because the crisis will deepen further in the coming days and the country should be prepared for this. The current mess is unbearable."

His remarks came on a day when India reported yet another grim milestone of the highest number of daily new Covid-19 cases and deaths. A total of 3,46,786 Covid cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, and 2,624 deaths, the highest single-day deaths so far in the country, according to the health ministry's reports on Saturday.

This is the third day in a row when India reported more than 3 lakh Covid cases.

Since April 15, India has been reporting over 2 lakh new Covid-19 cases on a daily basis.

Rahul should go to rajasthan and Punjab the states ruled by congress and adopt all his strategies and show his ability in controlling this Chinese virus, instead of giving advices to PM who does not listen to him.

Come on Rahul. Nobody needs a PR, except your party who is down in the dumps and depending on regional parties. Focus first and demonstrate your strategies in the states where your party is ruling, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala are the main contributors. Coming daily and tweeting and bashing center wont help. This strategy will only lead you to contest from a safe Muslim constituency in Kerala for survival . All Congress leaders are not that lucky.

What he said is completely true. But I would want his sister and mother to take the vaccine especially sonia gandhi asked she is on the vulnerable side. Raga will be immune for the next 90 days anyways. I don't know why they haven't done it yet

@William, Mangalore 'But I would want his sister and mother to take the vaccine especially sonia gandhi asked she is on the vulnerable side. Raga will be immune for the next 90 days anyways.' His body, his choice. The vaccine is not a cure and its unknown side-effects may reduce your life.

Our present PM though very cleverly manages public stage speeches is very slow in walk the talk. The poor citizen is yet to understand how are we indirectly suffering and the reversing of the wealth made by the industrialists and private bankers and other govt institutions. In any case the health ministry is responsible for the present helpless stage of not making enough oxygen available with the result so many of our beloved family members lives we lost .
